The treasurer is the chief financial officer of the state. The treasurer is responsible for the state’s cash and debt management, unclaimed property, and chairs state boards and commissions. The length of term lasts 4 years.
The current officeholder is Deb Goldberg (D). She assumed office in 2015. She ran for Lieutenant Governor in 2006 and filed a statement of candidacy to run for Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District in 2020, prior to withdrawing. She runs unopposed for Treasurer in 2022. It’s just Deb!
