The Shallows

The Shallows hit the stage on the second night of Snow Gaze at Deep Cuts, performing as a four-piece with (you guessed it) gazey flesh and alt rock bones. Strong vocals, nearly operatic at times.

Shout out to all the bands that performed at the benefit. On the first night, Vivid Bloom, Main Era, Slow Quit, and Still Life Sounds. On the second night, The Shallows, XO, Honeywave, and Dropbear.

Who or what was the Snow Gaze benefit benefitting? Zumix and Warm Up Boston.

What’s Zumix anyway?

ZUMIX is an East Boston-based nonprofit organization dedicated to building our community through music and creative technology. We believe music is the most powerful means of developing adolescent self-identity. Our award-winning music and creative technology programming is designed to equip youth with the tools necessary to reach their full potential, while creating a safe space for youth to explore who they are and who they want to be. Through community events, ZUMIX also provides access to top-quality arts experiences for a low-income, historically underserved neighborhood.

What’s Warm Up Boston anyway?

Warm Up Boston, founded in 2020, is a radical survival program serving, supporting, and empowering Boston’s unhoused community through solidarity rather than charity. Our mission focuses on the direct delivery of material aid and advocacy as well as on harm reduction strategies designed to prevent deaths from overdoses and transmission of infectious disease among people who use drugs and the larger community.
