Love you, Steve Ignorant. But you’re not adding much to Sunny War’s “Walking Contradiction,” which slaps on its own. A couple of refrains. A driving synth progression is the launchpad for Sunny War’s folk punk soapboxery. The momentum built up in the cascading progressions is urgent and undeniable. This is old-fashioned “speaking truth to power.” Hence, the invitation extended to a Crass alum, in retrospect (and maybe even at the time?), one of the headier punk outfits out there in the old school landscape.
