Jeff Parker’s ETA IVtet: “Freakadelic”
ETA IVtet rides again! The jazz quartet were resident mainstays at the Los Angeles club ETA for years. Until it went belly up at the end of 2023, leaving its musical residents without musical homes. But nature finds a way, and the live album The Way Out of Easy gives the rest of the world a chance to hear what the IVtet sounded like in their natural habitat. Shout out to the cool improv jazz stylings, spiked with electronics, of Anna Butterss (bass), Jay Bellerose (percussion), Josh Johnson (saxophone), and Jeff Parker (guitar). Via International Anthem.
