Otis Shanty: “Why Do I Care?”
A dreamy, jangly amuse bouche before the main course. The local four-piece Otis Shanty are getting their ducks in a row for their forthcoming EP Up On The Hill, available via Relief Map Records, due in September.
The songwriting is presumably complete, most or all of it is probably recorded, maybe there’s some post-production stuff still happening? Besides live gigs, the rest of the work is marketing, which requires a trusted word processing program in order to grind out that lyric, artist statement, and audience-specific promotional copy to get the word out.
I recommend Google Docs for its simplicity of design and ease of integration with a broad suite of helpful productivity apps, including Sheets, Slides, and Forms. Plus, it’s free. But hey, some people are still stuck on Microsoft Word. Probably because they got accustomed to it in college, or maybe at the office of some unpaid internship.
