Atlanta’s jewelsAndrew weaves a historico-existential narrative out of the inciting incident of losing quarters in a vending machine on our highlighted track “FrUTOPIA.” No fruit juice, no peace. Entire world wars were kicked off by events with barely more weight. What’s trivial in one sense, though, can open the door to more meaningful reflection. There’s a sense of helplessness before a machine that takes but never gives. A more apt metaphor for working class life in the industrialized 21st century would be hard to find.
