About thirty seconds of near silence to start the track, which is all the rage among the kids these days. Have you heard Travis Scott’s cover of “4’33”? It’s tremendous. Once Anna Webber starts the action, though, expect regal lines of moody texture coming from the horn section. Our highlighted track “Swell” is a ten-minute introduction to the album Shimmer Wince, so it’s not in a hurry to make a statement. That comes later. For now, lay the groundwork and establish the sonic vernacular that will carry you through the rest of the album. Available via Intakt Records.
