Boston Calling
May 24-26, 2024
The annual blunderbuss that is Boston Calling returned in 2024 to the Harvard Athletic Complex with four stages, a ferris wheel, and promotional partnerships aplenty. House of Dunkin, something to do with Chase credit cards, Liquid Death Country Club, and more Miller Lite cowboy hat schwag than you could shake a stick at.
The Orange Stage has become a mainstay for showcasing local talent, but local artists could be found on every stage except the Green Stage, which platformed the main headliner each night, including Ed Sheeran on Friday, Tyler Childers on Saturday, and The Killers on Sunday.
The schedule also featured a “strong middle class” of acts. Leon Bridges on Friday, Trey Anastasio and the Classic TAB on Saturday, and Megan Thee Stallion and Hozier on Sunday could have all headlined at a festival with less star power. Though you may not have been able to pinpoint exactly where the locus of musical taste lies, there’s no doubting the collective draw of the acts, which drew a crowd from all over New England and beyond.
