Thick Fuzz: “Summer In The City”
A throwback blues rock number about breaking free of winter’s grip. It’s Thick Fuzz, a rock n roll power trio. Emphasis on the ‘power.’
New Englanders know the feeling, the way that winter drags on and on, and you don’t know if the sun will ever shine again.
But we’ve got to take issue with the lyric “Hot damn winter's finally over / It's getting longer every year.” We’ve been having unusually warm winters lately, barely any snow. If it feels like winter is lasting forever, maybe it’s just because we’re not sure when it really starts. Instead of snowfall, we get long periods of cloudy, gray days.
It’s a kind of weather limbo that will make you yearn for summer, sure — but it might make you nostalgic for a real winter too.
