Rob Mazurek brings a little jazz, a little spoken word, and a little stardust. The opening synth bass line on our highlighted track “Future Shaman” feels like a warm up to a wannabe Stevie Wonder jammer. But the Exploding Star Orchestra is too subtle a musical beast for pop formulas. The band goes supernova with wide, ranging jazz/funk fusion that keeps within the bounds of a curious and inquisitive keys performance.
