Newtie: “Mr. Pity”
Simon & Garfunkel gone lo-fi. And probably without Simon – this is more of a Garfunkel production. Ornate simplicity, most everything produced out of a simple strum by “your stepdad’s favorite band.” You don’t know my stepdad. On our highlighted track “Mr. Pity,” Newtie announces at the start that he “doesn’t care” if he sings “out of tune.” The singing is largely in tune. Off the full-length cassette Dusk Dances.
