Blame Shifters: “Social Creeps”
You keep waiting for the song to blast off. Go from an electric picker with light percussion to a feverish post hardcore attack. Blame Shifters don’t tease it out as long as Circus Trees “Save Yourself” (which arguably never peaks). Instead the Boston-based four-piece pop the cork around 1:30. Hey, long enough for most crowds.
Our highlighted track “I Want To Leave Home” hits on a familiar theme in 2024 – a generation of young adults who are stuck living at home because it’s too goddamn expensive to live anywhere else. Is that what the song is about? Maybe. Watch out for the whirlpool distortion outro, plus a pop punk chorus that’s worth a shout or two. Off Everyone Must Go.
