Apollo Sunshine: “The Mermaid Angeline”

An underwater musical Shangri-La via a wet & bubbly guitar effect and some beachy rhythms. Our highlighted track “The Mermaid Angeline” has moments of Beatles-esque grandeur, the vocal layering redolent of psychotropic Fab Fornication. It’s a love song of sorts from Apollo Sunshine. Less a come on, more a cry for help from a drowning sailor who needs rescuing by – in the words of Monty Python – a “watery tart.” Which is no basis for a system of government, but might pass muster for a quick fling. Off the full-length Shall Noise Upon. Via Mythological Records.
