Synthetic Fire

Garcia Peoples continues to defy the odds for indie bands (really, any band) by releasing a high quantity of high quality material that actually sells.

Pun aside, their latest live album 100 Years of Solid Dudes is a worthy addition to their catalog. The collection of music is culled from an improvisational set performed in Vermont in 2022.

They call it “purely improvised,” which we suppose means they didn’t interweave the spontaneous jams with pre-written material. It’s a testament to their craft and precisely the reason why the New Jersey rockers can keep spinning gold from musical straw.

Our highlighted track “Synthetic Fire” builds gnarly momentum throughout while still finding the still moments in the madness that are the hallmark of great improvisation. Of course, don’t stop there – listen to the whole album.
