Rich Jones: “See You All The Time”
This song must be an outlier. Rich Jones claims hip hop, in some sort of indie variant, but our highlighted track “See You All The Time” is pretty much straightforward psych pop. Sure, the bass drum is a little more insistent than you might expect, and the singer doesn’t sound like he’s used to…singing. But other than that, straightforward psych pop with magical mystery lyrics and gonzo refrains. Wouldn’t make a bad closer at a hip hop show. You know, everyone can join in the refrain until the lights come up: “So nice to see you when I see you all the time.” Off the full-length Smoke Detector.
