Really Great: “Skateboard Amp”
Rocks like the last few hours of an overly introspective trip. You know, the sixth, seventh, eighth hour into a certain type of acid voyage when the Big Reveal of the climax has departed and you’re left with light visuals and this self-questioning bottomless rabbit hole dynamic. That’s kind of been Really Great’s indie rock vibe since the debut LP So Far, No Good, and it’s the vibe revived on our highlighted track “Skateboard Amp,” a medium tempo jangler, the first single to drop off the forthcoming sophomore album Be The Light On. To be clear, I’m not talking about a bad trip – just one that’s a bit headier than you might have signed up for. The lead guitar flashes a tone so sustained you might mistake it for a keyboard. It’s not a keyboard. Via Disposable America.
