ksrmr: “GRITONA”
Written By Michael Gutierrez

The title track to ksrmr’s GRITONA hits like a chainsaw working its way through your lower spinal cord. Real Aphex Twin with a needle on sandpaper energy. But watch for the synth tide to roll in and turn the noise assault into something like a tone poem in a pair of stanzas. The electronic artists ksrmr does a lot with a little. The affecting and brittle sonic textures of the piece are suddenly foregrounded around the 1:38 mark when the dreamy sample is cut off at the knees, and the sound experiment withdraws like a hermit crab back into its shell.
