Jiddo: “PTSD”
They Can’t Keep Getting Away With This is the name of the record from Jiddo. Getting away with what? Sure, there’s a whole lot of people getting away with stuff in this world. Some of it’s really nefarious. Should we overthink the politics or just glom onto the emotional weight of this post-hardcore jammer? Maybe there are some clues in our highlighted track “PTSD.” The lyrics drop the line: “I fear god and being sober.” Listen to the whole song to get the context. But very little context required to wonder at how the specter of god haunts some and barely gets on the radar of others. Usually it’s the ones that were raised religious who fear the god reaper most. Is religion a kind of PTSD?
