Hush Club: “Movie”
Kinda disco. If this song played at the junior high prom, you wouldn’t blink twice. Sulky, sultry, swanky. Pop visions for a breezy night from Hush Club. Our highlighted track “Movie” is a bouncy hummer about getting friend-zoned like a motherfucker. Which happens here and there, but definitely at junior high proms too. Right? So I guess “Movie” is a metaphor, which compares the emotional distance proper to unrequited love with the distance between fantasy and reality proper to, you know, some yahoo watching a movie, following along, getting caught up with the action, but realizing all the time that the scenes unfolding in front of their eyes represent a world to which they will never belong. You heard it here first.
