Headmaster: “In Loco Parentis”
You thought we weren’t going to cover an obscure demo release of a “dungeon synth” side project by a local shoegazer? You thought fucking wrong. Nick from Slow Quit, the man behind the moniker, does “obscure side project” the right way by conjuring up a bizarrely specific aesthetic. The look and feel of the whole production is 19th century British boarding school goth ambient. Our highlighted track is “In Loco Parentis,” which is a kind of legal convention that allows someone beside your parents to be your “parents” while you’re off at boarding school. Off Demo II.
