A medium tempo entry into bummer rock. The relentless ennui permeating our highlighted track “Tidal” is grounds enough to write GONE. a collective prescription for antidepressants. I make no claims about the emotional landscape of the rest of the full-length album Mercy. In any event, art is not all sunshine and butterflies. The point is to stir the straw of cathartic release, and drilling deep into the concentrated ore of existential moodiness is one way to do it. Maybe the only way? Via Candlepin Records.
