ME N U: “Sorcery”

This band gives you a RIYL list. Required If You Listen. Except they call it a FFO, which I’m assuming is For Fans Of. That’s mighty helpful of them – it’s usually the kind of tipoff you get from the PR people.

Bands can get a little cagey about comparing themselves to other bands, or painting themselves into corners of given genres. But the online streaming platforms, and the general nightmare marketplace, have really conditioned bands to go the extra mile in reducing their music to a list of recognizable and marketable attributes.

All that said, ME N U is hard to spell, which makes it, at some level, hard to sell. FFO: Surface to Air Missive, Telstar Drugs, Women, Rollerskate Skinny, Lilys, Pinback, Warehouse, The Stroppies. Our highlighted track “sorcery” is off the sold out EP Pushpin.

Stream, share, buy to your heart’s content.
