Burnt Envelope: “Nothing To Do”

What’s going on here? It’s a full LP, but built like a string of singles. Each streamable track includes an A- and B-side. The band has a laugh with the pairing “Nothing To Do” and “Something To Do.” File the joke with Jesus and Mary Chain’s “I Love Rock n’ Roll” b/w “I Hate Rock n’ Roll” single. The Burnt Envelope offering is not as noisy. What is as noisy as Jesus and Mary Chain? But it’s plenty raw, like it was recorded in the backseat of a minivan on a handheld cassette recorder. Maybe it was? Shout out to the Red Sox shout out.
