Barishi: “Blood Aurora”
Written By Michael Gutierrez
Doomy, sludgy, growl-into-the-mic vibrations from Brattleboro’s Barishi. The band uses propulsive riffing to drive our highlighted track “Blood Aurora” down dark and forbidding corridors. This would make a great alternative soundtrack to Tetsuo: The Iron Man.
In fact, someone set that up: live film scoring, like they do every Halloween with keyboard accompaniment to films like Nosferatu, except it’s Barishi going hog wild on the six-strings to black-and-white images of a Japanese man transforming into an industrial robot nightmare.
