Brussels’ Roméo Poirier goes ambient while retaining a shadow’s trace of a techno beat on the ethereal “Porte contre”. A shadow’s trace doesn’t amount to much, a murmuring in the darkness, but it’s enough to propel our highlighted track to its ambiguous conclusion. Of all the tracks off Living Room, the title of this track is one that actually references a structural element of a domicile. As to whether that carries more weight and significance, or is just another penny dropped in the well, Poirier offers us few clues.
