Healer
Iceblink’s superlative LP Carpet Cocoon is music either for spiritually advanced young bloodz or older hipsters ready to throw proper dinner parties.
Our highlighted track “Healer” is an acoustic marvel. The plucked guitar strings are backed by a cool, slow, end-of-the-line (and loving it) saxophone for a lead-off single version of the Calm app. The notes of sophistication will draw those that don’t quite get jazz but still want to soak in the vibes.
Throw a dinner party with wine, cheese, all the necessary utensils, and spin “Healer.” It will be background music for half your invitees, and the other half will ask you where they can stream it. Here, of course, at Hump Day News.
Different tracks go different directions – it would be wrong to call this jazz and jazz only. Ambient experiments are also a strong influence. The sense of adventure evident on Carpet Cocoon is playing in a sandbox located at some walkable distance between the two genres. Dive in and dig in and enjoy.

A live solo ditty from an artist you know from Lewis Del Mar.
At turns folk, at turns classical.
