CHEEM: “Snag”

Connecticut’s CHEEM crafts playful, pop-punk episodes of emo glam on our highlighted track “Snag,” off its LP Guilty Pleasure. There’s an interesting dynamic that develops between hard-charging pop punk guitar riffery and cleaner RnB-inflected vocal harmonies. Add in a slap bass and a rap verse, why not?

There’s a no-holds-barred approach to the songwriting that throws whatever against the wall to see what sticks. What sticks ends up on the 9-track album that bends genres, subverts expectations, and doesn’t overstay its welcome.
