Weekend Lovers: “Baby”
Written By Michael Gutierrez

Tuscon’s Weekend Lovers deliver a slow-to-medium tempo rocker on their throwback single “Baby.” Throwback in a retro, vintage Cults, or Tennis, kind of way. Shades of Dum Dum Girls in the walls of guitar and synth sound that lends a robust grip to a song with deceptively simple structure.
Shout out to the layers of backing vocals, which does what a lot of musicians just use a bank of synths to do, but in a much lovelier manner.
The album picks up speed elsewhere on the album, and rocks a little more aggressively in a Fleetwood Mac vein. But on “Baby” Weekend Lover gently rocks the cradle of love.
