The Spatulas: “Shedded Life”
Written By Michael Gutierrez
Kind of a jangly, old skool, lo fi, indie rocker. It’s The Spatulas! Straight outta Cambridge. Our highlighted track is “Shedded Life,” which is what snakes do when they molt skins. Maybe? The chord progression is Kinks minimalism at its best while a little 13th Floor Elevators guitar solo noodles in the background. Shout out to the tambourine? Extra points for the magic mushroom on the album cover of the full-length Beehive Mind. Looks like Amanita muscaria, aka “Fly Agaric,” which will get you high but there are about a million better ways to trip.
