An overlooked holiday number. But who could forget the classic rendition from the stop-motion animated Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer? That one version won a new generation of fans, who, admittedly, are getting a little long in the tooth themselves. Happy to report that The Ophelias have picked up the mantle to revive the tune for new ears. The musical group out of Cincinnati leans into the harmonies atop a feathery bed of strings. It’s too late to pick up the limited-run 7-inch edition of the single, but you can still donate to their charity of choice Coalition For The Homeless.
