Patrick Cowley: “Floating”
Written By Michael Gutierrez
Here’s a throwback from the dancehall scene of San Francisco at the start of the 80s. It’s Patrick Cowley, delivering the full-length Malebox straight-ish to your door! Our highlighted track “Floating” is an electro banger with classic disco descending synths, a funky bass wah, and vaguely tropical percussion. Cowley performed and recorded all the parts, which might explain why it took him three years to produce the damn thing. You can’t rush choice disco funk. After all these years, the album returns to vinyl via Dark Entries Records.
