Muriel Grossmann: “Calm”
Written By Michael Gutierrez

Get lost in this music. I did. I put on Muriel Grossman’s “Calm” to give it a good listen, and instead it started listening to me. Shit like that happens. I came to my senses about five minutes later and reoriented myself to listen to the second half of the 10-minute jazz ripper “more critically.” But the fact that I got lost at all tells me all I need to know about the Spanish composer, and Radomir Milojkovic, the dynamite guitarist she’s playing with on our highlighted track. Off the full-length Devotion. Dig it.
