Megan From Work: “Girl Suit”
Soft punk? That’s the self-appointed descriptor via Megan From Work. But maybe we can keep this ‘tenderpunk’ train rolling (hat tip, Illuminati Hotties)? It’s punk textures with a higher emotional quotient. Not emo! Some killer vocal layering – the musician behind the moniker, Megan Simon is their own chorus. Our highlighted track “Girl Suit” is the title track from the album by the same name. Duh. That’s what “title track” means. The song tells a story about a girl uncomfortable in their own skin, who must become what they are by no longer being what they were. Sounds simple enough.
