KMRU: “Dissolution Grip”

The 13-minute title track off the ambient album. Do artists feel more pressure to deliver on the title track of an album compared to other songs on the album? Does KMRU? You know, like the title track could be viewed as a kind of statement song for the whole album.

What’s the statement of our highlighted song “Dissolution Grip”? It’s a slow roller, for sure. There’s no rule that says ambient music needs to be slow-paced and mellow, but you get that a lot. What you also get in this song is a kind of building intensity, like you isolated & slowed down the French horn section of a Wagnerian score to about half speed.

The trills and thrills begin at about the 4-minute mark. I won’t spoil it for you, but it will have you thinking about the British royal family in a completely different light.
