Kit Orion: “Flicker”
DJ-turned-pop rocker takes a band out for a spin. It’s Kit Orion, who can mangle and wrangle the electronics in all sorts of newfangled ways, but plays it pretty straight on our highlighted track “Flicker.” Verse, chorus, verse, chorus, with a syrupy guitar solo to boot. Caitlyn O’Brien, the musician repping the moniker, gets to step out from behind the laptop and speak her truth into the microphone. What’s her truth? “Hold me, rock me, cry me to sleep.” Two out of three of those ain’t bad. Off the full-length Bottle Grin.
