JÜRG FREY: “Circular music n°2”

A 33:58 banger to enjoy while you’re passing stones. With such a large sandbox to play in, makes sense that the experimental ambient artist from Switzerland JÜRG FREY doesn’t really start the song until about seven minutes in. Why rush things? The beauty emerges in the long intervals that map textures of strings and mysterious percussive forces against each other in surprising ways. It’s music for meditation, but for black box theaters, not for hot yoga sessions. There is no marshmallow fluff transcendence waiting at the end of a rainbow – just the abiding sense of an empty void. You heard it here first: JÜRG FREY, not for hot yoga.
