Josh Cole: “daughters”
Give this track a second or two to warm up. The horn comes in like a squirrel peeking its head around the body of a tree trunk. You know that little dance that squirrels do when humans are around? Scamper halfway up a tree, cling to the opposite side, and retreat in spiral patterns if you try to get up close? You could dance that dance all day long before realizing that the squirrel long since abandoned the game and took off while you weren’t looking. Because squirrels are sly, sneaky scoundrels. Kind of like the horn and vibraphone on our highlighted track “daughters” off Josh Cole’s Kind Mind. Which is, presumably, about squirrels.
