In less resourceful hands this track would be a mere “banger.” You know, the light percussion at the head of the song would give way to a bass drop, and you’d be full tilt generic dancefloor mashing for 15-20 minutes. Not so with Jlin, whose “Perspective” keeps the percussion light, airy, and endlessly inventive all the way through the 5-minute run time. Shades of Avalon Emerson, µ-Ziq, even Aphex Twin. Soak it in.
