Humbird: “North Country Girl”

A song brilliant in concept and beautiful in sonic execution. Minnesota’s Humbird delivers a thoughtful and persuasive response to Bob Dylan’s “Girl From the North Country.” She transforms the silent muse into a real human being who misses Bob. But not enough to follow after him on his travels. And maybe not at all anymore. Is that sacrilege directed towards a sentimental cow? We don’t think Bob would mind at all. Pitch perfect vocals with stunning folk phrasing make this track a worthy successor.
