Foyer Red: “Blue Jazz”

No one said making music was easy. No one said it was that hard either, but Foyer Red love to make it hard on themselves with songs that turn inwards on themselves faster than an armadillo falling into a black hole.
Polyrhythms abound on our highlighted track “Blue Jazz”, which namechecks two genres and manages to be neither. And why should it? Shades of Deerhoof and Mamalarky.
This band has lofty ambitions for how to compose an indie rock number. But the real proof (that’s in the real pudding) is the live show. “Do it live!” as Bill O’Reilly once said in a sweaty, FOX-drenched fever dream. Hump Day News saw Foyer Red do it live at Fuzzstival. No pudding, only pizza.
