Daniel Knox is a cantankerous pop artist to tackle. Is Anna Bolin up for the challenge? Sure, why the fuck not?

The fingerplay on our highlighted track “Disaster | First Responder” hits the Schlager sweet spots, but without the reverb-soaked storytelling of the original, takes on a jazzier hue. That’s the tough part about covering some Daniel Knox songs – the ones where the personality, whether fact or fiction, is foregrounded to the hilt.

Anna Bolin dives right in, and even showcases some of her own vocals on the alt track of the three-song EP Call and Response: Songs of Daniel Knox. Extra points for the strong grammatical choice of verticules in the song titles.
