But the imaginary space mapped by our highlighted track “Metaphysical Deception.” Dense synth and guitar patterning, accompanied by soprano vocal noodlings, only occasionally come up for air. There’s a kind of cubist architecture to the chaos, and after decades of reveling in the chaos, few do it better than Acid Mothers Temple (and peak noise Sonic Youth in a different vernacular).
