Acid Mothers Temple: “Metaphysical Deception”

Guess what? Experimental psych rock from Acid Mothers Temple. With a band name like that, you know what you’re in for. But the imaginary space mapped by our highlighted track “Metaphysical Deception.” Dense synth and guitar patterning, accompanied by soprano vocal noodlings, only occasionally come up for air. There’s a kind of cubist architecture to the chaos, and after decades of reveling in the chaos, few do it better than Acid Mothers Temple (and peak noise Sonic Youth in a different vernacular). Off the full-length Trust Masked Replicants, which isn’t logged into their Wikipedia discography yet, so if you want to score some online archival points, now is your chance. Via Imprec.
