Worcester’s peregrine is a music collective that faced its up and downs during the pandemic as many of us did.
Musically, all that uncertainty amounts to a revolving line-up of artists on their latest LP the awful things we’ve done. Different artists, different styles. Tracks like experimental ambient thriller “breath: subsist” and neo-western, bluesy barnburner “exorcism USA” push the album in surprising directions.
The glue that holds their sound together, though, is the emo, alt-rock balladry at work in our highlighted track “the reply,” which screams its heart on its sleeve.
