New York’s Wilder Maker drop a new track off their forthcoming Male Models: “A Professional,” featuring singer Felicia Douglass. Douglass does the heavy lifting on vocals and the new album has a ton of guests — Mutual Benefit, V.V. Lightbody, Adam Duritz, and Katie Von Schleicher.

The band has included Von Schleicher in previous incarnations. So it’s no surprise to hear frontman Gabriel Birnbaum take a backseat in vocal duties (though he takes a backseat to no one in tweet-splaining his creative process).

What stands out in “A Professional” is the simplicity of song construction. It’s a pure pop snack platter whipped up to serve that delicious voice. They can do complex and epic and decadent (see “Song for the Singer” off Year of Endless Light or “Women Dancing Immortal” off Zion), but on this new track Wilder Maker keep it professional.
