At first blush Boston’s Trash Rabbit is your standard fun, romparound punk trio. But wait, there’s more! The bait & switch starts with the cover of their recent EP Trash Rabbit Presents: Rabbit’s Rumble, which playfully mimics the cool design aesthetic of mid-20th century jazz albums. Unless there is a trumpet and flutist in the band that I’m not aware of?

Neither make an appearance on TRPRR, but what we do get is a surprising amount of musicianship crammed into four songs. Extra points for the Dunkin shout out. Listen for the punk virtuoso flourishes hidden like Easter eggs throughout the EP when the band strays from the bulldozer chord progressions to get a little funky.
