50’s Love Song

Evil Felipe experiment with different sounds on their latest EP Spacing Out

Stream “50’s Love Song”

Worcester’s Evil Felipe are experimenting with a lot of different sounds on their latest EP Spacing Out. Rock n roll, punk, a little surf, some throwback mid-20th century pop, twee, even a pinch of country twang here and there. The common denominator is a hard-charging tempo, hooks aplenty, and a wry lyrical imagination.

Our highlighted track “50’s Love Song” is a playful homage to the pop culture of a bygone era. Of course, you can’t go home again. Evil Felipe make it their own with uptempo and a rapid fire Bangles-esque attack. Shades of Shonen Knife.

Did rock n roll ever surpass its 50s output in terms of pop perfection? Tell me the answer to that and I’ll tell you which era of the Beatles you like best.
