Walt McClements: “Nest of Earrings”
2+2=5. Not sure why two underappreciated instruments, the harp and accordion, should combine to be more than the sum of their parts. But when you listen to our highlighted track “Nest of Earrings” from Walt McClements and Mary Lattimore, it works. The LA-based musicians partner up on this collab record to find a new way through the experimental darkness to a beautiful ambient morning. You know, blue skies, Barfy burgers, girls! McClements’ modernist wheezebox drone is the perfect sandbox for Lattimore’s processed harp to play in. Only five songs on this album, so don’t expect quickie pop bangers. Available via Thrill Jockey Records.
