UFOm: “Higher Life”
Written By Michael Gutierrez
One descriptor tag for this track: ‘Portland’. Oh, but there’s so much more to be said about “Higher Life”, an aquatic, ambient, harp-laden moodring of a song from UFOm. The title suggests an aspiration to a state of transcendence. Isn’t that the ambition of every religious devotee? UFOm’s chakra is just a bit too indigo to be used as ritual music for organized religion. But for spaced cadets who want to get lifted to that higher life, it’ll work just fine. Shades of Iceblink.
