Appreciate the feedback intro. It’s kind of a vintage throwback these days, throwing back to the alt 90s when every other grunge single opened with noise. Praise be to Sonic Youth’s “100%,” which did it just as well or better than the rest. Not that This Day In History is grunge, or alt, or No Wave or whatever the bands of yesteryear were. The guitar textures are bright and loud on our highlighted track “Cpt. Cooper.” And the song construction is a little tongue-in-cheek, with a romping, stomping guitar refrain that seems like too much fun to take seriously (like a Weezer riff). But the takeaway point, it’s fun.
