The electronic trajectory of The Hecks stays the course. Since a self-titled LP in 2016 that favored more conventional artrock noise guitar, the braintrust behind the Chicago-based band has been angling for a motherboard future. You felt change in the air on their outstanding LP My Star in 2019, which increasingly featured synths. Have they fully turned the corner into Tron territory with the latest two singles? And are they trying to pick up the Daft Punk mantle with that album cover?
